Restaurant Reviews

Just a quicky as ate there quite a while ago but congratulations to Brett Graham only the second Aussie chef to gain any Michelin stars and he just got 3 - 2 stars for the Ledbury which is still currently the best meal i've had in London so far and also 1 star for the Harwood Arms in Fulham which was also a great meal, very good service and a splendid little wine list - one of the few places deserving of the term "gastropub" - as opposed to say somewhere that thinks sticking a bit of samphire on top of their burgers with a side order of pretty but surly waitress is reason enough to double their prices - ie: Ramseys York and Albany in Camden.
Further congratulations are in order because it really annoys the French when jumped up peasants from a backwater like Australia dare to take one of their stars, which can only be a good thing eh - so goodonya mate.

  1. I do have to concur, that meal at the Ledbury last summer was by far the best meal I've had in London too, but the guy's still an Aussie, so even though he's a great chef he's bound to be a bit of a twat. And they suck at cricket.

  2. While I acknowledge and accept your inability to endorse unreservedly anything Australian - as such a thing is sociologically bred into us at such a young age - this is being steadelly - steadilly - fuck how do you spell steadily --- surplanted by my annoyance at the French - who I quite liked before I moved back to London but this problem is more at the genetic level so what can you do - my enemys enemy is my friend and all that - and trust me in the restaurant industry nothing annoys the French more than New World up-starts doing well - by the way might of been trying to sound funny but that was a pretty accurate description of the York and Albany - and love what youve done with the wallpaper

  3. Holy Moly Nahthern, I find it almost inconceivable that you are only just forming your hatred of the French, I have had this beaten into me from an incredibly young age, then again you always were a late developer.. I have, however, always been taught to respect them, especially when in their presence, due to the fact that they produce some of the finest food and wine in the world. We just insult them when they leave. I suppose I can, therefore, allow myself to support our New World cousins if it is at the expense of 'Les Grenouilles'. At least the Aussies are quite funny too, which the Frogs definitely are not. Anyway, I suggest you take a few English lessons before you post again so that you can attempt to eradicate some of your atrocious grammar and syntax. Also, I'm glad you like my dots..

  4. Syntax and grammer is for pussys - also have to think about our format a bit more or just going to end up with random and scattered postings everywhere - how do we organise this thing into subject sub-headings and stuff - thoughts?

  5. Furthermore you can use your obviously superior english skills to come up with a suitable blog description for chronicles of consumption - which I will then of course edit to make it interesting.
