One-Track Mind

Hmmm, I just realised that almost all of the wines that I waffle on about are French. Why is it that I mostly seem to have French wines in stock? I must try to diversify a bit more..

  1. Yes -- for Bacchus sake you do have to start broadening your horizons somewhat - French wine is great no arguements - but their greatest strength is somewhat their greatest weakness ie: the restrictions of the AOC system, Burgundy Bordeaux etc brilliant wines but apart from subtle variations you know what you're getting and you're going to pay for it - whereas the New World is free to experiment - still along way to go in terms of quality and understanding terroir but very exciting if you know where to look - except Argentina, its rubbish - not to mention the remarkable ageability of Spanish wines or the the unending and at times anarchic system of Italian wines - love Italian wines - no one understands them so they're a hell of a lot cheaper
