Alistair is fat
ReplyDelete1. Please spell my name correctly
ReplyDelete2. My consumption is continuing tonight with roast grouse and a 94 Roumier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras. Enjoy work tommorrow my friend..
Have recently consumed an '89 Hugel Gewurz "Jubilee" (surprisingly ok even after all this time) and a '99 Maison Champy Pernand-Verglesses (which was actually bloody excellent, surprisingly so). What have you been drinking my stupid Northern compadre?
ReplyDeleteAnd an update on the grouse: As it was cooked by my extremely fair hand, it unsurprisingly turned out perfectly, beautifully pink and tender indeed. After some initial concerns about the choice of wine, the Musigny turned out to be splendid with the meal, good taste of sour cherries and smoke, with some lovely gamey notes also and excellent intensity. A perfect accompaniment to the meal. A wine definitely at its peak to be drunk now, it won't improve from here. Later Nahthern
